The Modern Man's Creed
well as from the beginning Christians defined what they believed in a document called the Creed, the English journalist Steve Turner wrote this satirical poem about the mind of modern man modern man called Credo:
believe in Marx, Freud and Darwin . We believe that everything is fine as long as it does not hurt anyone, in your best definition of what is hurting, according to your best definition of what is knowledge.
believe in sex before, during and after marriage. We believe that sin can be treated with therapy. We believe that adultery is fun. We believe that sodomy is OK. We believe that taboos are just that taboo.
believe that things have been improving, although they have evidence pointing to the contrary. The evidence must be investigated and one can prove anything by the evidence.
We believe there is 'something' in this in horoscopes, UFOs and bent spoons. Jesus was a good man as well as Buddha, Mohammed and ourselves. It was a good moral teacher although we think his good morals were really bad.
believe that all religions are basically the same, at least those of which we read. They all believe in love and goodness. They differ only in matters relating to the creation, sin, heaven, hell, God and salvation. Only.
believe that after death there is nothing because when you ask the dead what happens there say nothing. If death is not the end, if the dead have lied, then there must be a compulsory heaven for all. Except, perhaps, for Hitler, Stalin and Genghis Khan .
